Meet Missy Ruby, a former flight attendant and now beloved member of the Tom White Group.
I am honored to be here today with one of my favorite people: Missy Ruby. She has been a part of our team for a little over a year, and she’s doing a great job. I wanted to introduce her to the world and have you all get to know her a little bit more.
Missy is originally from Sacramento, California, where she lived for 19 years before moving to Memphis, Tennessee in 1986. Since the year 2000, she has been a proud Texan.
She loves the people and culture of San Antonio, but not necessarily the heat. She’s married to her husband Butch, and together they have two fabulous children, Tyler and Madison.
While she was obtaining her license to become a real estate agent, she was actually a flight attendant. However, the 9/11 tragedy caused her to rethink her career. The night before the tragedy, she had just flown home and was headed to her real estate class to focus on taking the exam. She decided not to continue working with the airlines and instead pursued real estate as a career.
What Missy loves most about real estate is that every transaction is different. She loves being able to help, mentor, and guide people and their families to reach their ultimate goals of homeownership. For her, it’s all great fun with a lot of opportunities to meet new people.
On the other hand, something that frustrates Missy about real estate is when she isn’t able to make her client’s dreams of homeownership come true, like when deals fall apart or circumstances prevent that outcome. In these cases, she commits to keeping in touch with people so that she can help their circumstances change.
Missy’s advice to beginner agents is to prospect every single day, everywhere they go. In real estate, everybody is a potential customer. Though many real estate programs make it seem like this is an easy job, it’s actually very difficult, yet rewarding all the same.
She’s had a great time working with the Tom White Group. Missy loves coming into work every day and making her calls. She’s found her place among the other team members and they all get along incredibly well.
Missy admits that, at first, she was very intimidated by me. However, she has come to learn that I am kind and a great mentor.
As far as her career goals, she aims to close 24 homes in 2018 and 36 in 2019. She and her husband have agreed that if she meets her goals, they’ll be taking a vacation to Greece.
We are so happy to have Missy on the team, and we can’t wait to see how well she does in the future. If you have any questions about our team or about real estate in general, please reach out to us. We’d be glad to help you however we can.
